The punching card mark acts as the spoof of a ticket and references to vintage "Time Punch" clocks where one had to get holes punched in to mark attendance.
As guide lines help structure the piece, I go forward with adding side notes to the illustration which are most of the times ideas that would enhance certain parts and/or contextualize the final piece better. These notes come in handy later once the illustration is colored, and the backgrounds have been added.
Once everything is done and any further additions feel overworked, I go forward with putting my design to test by subtending it on the piece of clothing/product to troubleshoot. Sometimes, changes are not required and I can head over to printing !
